Since I wasn't sure if this was a good idea, I emailed ST and this is the repy I got (just got this today) On the issue of dimming, I considered buying 2 ST 1000w ballasts and running 600w lamps on the 600w setting.
SOLIS BALLAST POINT UPGRADE
The ST ballasts will also allow me to upgrade to 600w DE if I decide to go that route. 2 600's will do a much better job for my space. I'm currently still running 2 400w CMH bulbs in magnetic ballasts and it's really not getting the job done. Prior to subscribing, each investor must receive, read and fully understand the PPM which contains important disclosures, financial assumptions and risk factors, including, but not limited to, those risks set forth in the section of the PPM entitled “Risk Factors.” Past performance of IMG-sponsored investments may not be indicative of future results.I've been looking for a couple of 600w ballasts myself and have done a LOT of reading, other than the one post above, I can't find anyone saying anything bad about the Solis Tek ballasts. With major employers like MacDill Air Force Base minutes away, the community consistently delivered high occupancy and rent growth. IMG identified this South Tampa submarket as having intrinsic qualities that could draw in-migration and diversified job growth. IMG successfully executed a $3M 'value-add' business plan to renovate the property and improve operations.

The $4B Water Street Tampa redevelopment taking place a few miles from the property underscores the growth and desirability of the area. The property occupies a prime location just half a mile from Bayshore Boulevard, known for its waterfront promenade and million-dollar estates. Constructed in 1988 as a low-density community on 22 acres, IMG acquired Solis with a vision to reposition the unique property within a high-demand Tampa submarket.
